2020 Election Analysis

Greetings All:

The 2020 Presidential Elections are still on the minds of many Americans.  As a member of the Constitution Party Executive Committee, I did an analysis of the election which I shared with the members of that committee. In discussing this with Jim Clymer, our new national chairman, we felt this information is something that our members would appreciate receiving.  It is with this in mind that this report has been prepared. We hope this is of value to each of you.

I want to share with you two reports showing the presidential vote totals for Blankenship and Mohr. The first report shows the number of votes garnered by the three minor parties in 2016 and 2020.  It also shows the state-by-state vote percentage that each CP state received in 2016 vs 2020.  Overall, the CP retained a higher vote percentage of the 2016 vote than did the Green Party, but less than the Libertarian.  In summary, all three parties were hit hard.  The vote percentage of the Libertarian and the Green Party should not change a lot since the Libertarians were on in all 50 states and the Green Party was on in 30 states. The CP had votes in only 18 due to issues in WY, NM, and SC.   Our percentage of 29.13% should increase once the write-in votes are tabulated, but that will take some time to get those. We did retain ballot access in WY.  Jeff Haggit got 2.9% of the vote (9,730 votes) in his US House race.  We needed 2% to retain ballot access.  We are grateful for that as Wyoming is a very difficult state to gain ballot access in.  Only the LP and the CP have ballot status there.  Wyoming simply forgot to turn in the electors, so Blankenship was not on the ballot. He would have done pretty well there.

If you compare state by state CP votes where the party was on the ballot for 2016 vs 2020, the CP did better than the LP.  Eleven of the 18 states got over 40% of the 2016 vote.  Utah was high with 68.15% of the 2016 vote.  However, we should have done much better than that due to the McMullen factor in 2016.  The LP Party did better than we did in that regard. We just did not run a good campaign this year and should have gotten more votes for Blankenship than we did. We did not get serious about the campaign until early Oct. and that was costly.   Even then, Utah got the highest total CP vote percentage with 0.4%.  Alaska was second with 0.3%.  North Carolina was impressive in that they gave Blankenship the most votes and just got ballot access in 2018.  Tennessee also did well. In 2016, Tennessee was a write-in state and Vermont was also a write-in state. With the exception of Tennessee and North Carolina, we did rather poorly in the Southern States.   In LA, MS, AR, and FL, we have next to no party organization other than just being on the ballot. That should hopefully change with the new regional chairmen in place.

On the second report, it shows the total vote thus far from each state and the percentage of the total CP vote that each state received.  Here, NC was tops, followed by MI. Five states, NC, MI, UT, TN, and WI got 30,772 votes for Blankenship or 52% of the total vote Blankenship got nationwide.  That is a serious indication of just how weak the party is in many states.  So, there is a lot of work that needs to be done. NC wants to begin ballot access right away which is most encouraging. It will be much cheaper now as petitioners want work.

In any event, it seems clear that our message resonates with the public.  Don did a remarkable job in his interviews. The one interview that Bill Mohr did in Michigan was good as well.  We just need to find a means of getting our message out to the public more effectively. Starting to do that now rather than four years down the road should make a huge difference. Getting our party leaders to move forward on that has always been a challenge, but with the new leadership in place in many states, we should be up to the task.

This information should be used as a valuable tool in building the party in the coming months and years.

On another note,  an analysis of the vote for Trump and Biden was also done.  What we learned was interesting to say the least.  You can see that report here.

Listed are the vote totals and vote percentages the Democratic candidate and Trump got in 2016 and 2020. Of particular interest was the votes for Trump in the states of AZ, WI, MI, PA, NC, and GA. Take the time to visually compare those to similar votes in surrounding states.  It becomes obvious that the percentage of vote increase that Trump got in those states was very minuscule compared to the significant vote increase that Biden got in those states. It seems clear that 1) either votes were switched from Trump to Biden in those states or 2) there were a lot of undervotes for other candidates on the ballot, meaning that votes were cast for Biden and no other candidates on the ballot or 3) both of the above.  Those are both big red flags implying vote fraud. Those figures are printed in bold type.  Anyway, we thought you might be interested in reviewing them.

Regional chairmen: Please forward this info on to all of your state party leaders who may not be on the national email list and have them in turn forward it on to all of their other state and local members.  This is the only report they will have of the success that we did achieve.  This detailed information simply is not available unless we provide it.  We will also put this info under elections on the national website and update it as new information is available.

Thanks to Jim Clymer for giving his approval to email this to each of you. If you find it of value, please forward it on to others.

Who Should Replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg?

By Darrell Castle

Hello this is Darrell Castle with today’s Castle Report. Today is the 25th day of September in the year 2020, perhaps a year that will be pivotal in the history of the United States and  the world as well. First, I want to tell you that the Castle family is doing fine during these very unusual and difficult times. The family daughter is adjusting well, and she seems more upbeat, more positive than she has in a while, and we are very grateful for that.

Today, I am talking about questions that are ever before us if we watch or listen to the news at all these days. We all know that Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG) recently died at the age of 87 after 27 years on the United States Supreme Court. RBG had reached iconic status both as a Court Justice and as a feminist leader and trend setter.

The first question to consider is does the President have the authority to make a nomination in this an election year. The answer to that question is easy; yes of course he does. There is nothing in the Constitution that restricts his authority to fill appointments in an election year. He has constitutional authority not until the election, but until his successor is inaugurated. I suppose all the controversy about it is like one of those unwritten rules of baseball that everyone abides by, or the next batter gets hit by a pitch.

The problem for the Democrats accepting this political fact revolves around Barack Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland 11 months before the end of his second term. President Obama had no chance at reelection because it was his second term. It really didn’t matter though because Donald Trump’s chances of beating Hillary Clinton were zero as we all remember. Once she was inaugurated Mrs. Clinton could then reappoint Garland or anyone she wanted.

The United States Senate must confirm the President’s nomination for it to be effective and at that time, as now, Republicans were the majority in the Senate. The rules of the Senate give the Senate majority leader the power to decide which items come to the Senate floor for a vote and in Garland’s case Mitch McConnell held up the vote for 11 months. Democrats now say that it would be unfair for him not to do the same thing in this case. The truth is that there is nothing fair about war, only who wins, this is a culture war and the winner will determine our destiny.

Interestingly, RBG could have helped the Democrats out by resigning during President Obama’s administration so that he could nominate her successor. She chose to stick around and continue her service, even to the point of joining in hearings on video from her hospital bed. Her daughter Jane recently gave an interview to the New York Times and in that interview, she said that her mother was certain that Hillary would be elected and that she wanted the first woman president to appoint her successor.

We now have only RBG’s unrecorded deathbed statement that we are supposed to believe for who she wanted as a successor. She supposedly said as her last wish that no one would be appointed to replace her until after the next inauguration. That is a rough paraphrase, but it is close to what she is reported to have said. We don’t know for sure that she really said it because there was no recording of the words in RBG’s voice.

If she did say it so what. Supreme Court justices, no matter how revered, cannot control the judiciary after their term is finished. the words mean nothing except something that we might want to consider out of respect for her. This country was already at a very toxic level of politics and her death can do nothing but inflame and add to the toxicity. We are already in a culture war, a vicious, polarized struggle for the future, and RBG’s death just added a new candidate to the ballot and that candidate is the US Constitution.

What is this document that we call the Constitution? Are we still bound by its terms or do we accept what RBG believed and that is that it is outdated and couldn’t possibly govern a country as diverse as this one in this modern age? It should therefore, be periodically adjusted by the Court, acting as a super legislature. The other side says no, we should at least continue the charade of pretending to abide by its requirements.

When news of RBG’s death broke in the press the President was giving a speech to a group of iron ore miners in upper Minnesota. When his speech ended the press asked him for a comment about her death and that was his first notice of it. He said “she led an amazing life. What else can you say? She was an amazing woman, whether you agreed or not. She was an amazing woman who led an amazing life. I’m actually saddened to hear that.”

She was an amazing woman with 27 years on the court. Her opinions shaped the outcome and presentation of many big cases. Maybe she will prove to be more important in death than she was in life. She was and still is the centering force of the progressive legal thought that dominates politics today. She was the leader in the actions of the court to reshape the constitution to address the issues of today with a new rule of law.

So, her death might make her even more important because it will force Joe Biden out of hiding and into the open. During the debate scheduled for September 29, it is hard to see how he will be able to avoid talking about it. If I were Donald Trump, I would ask him straight out who his potential nominees are. I read where he was asked that question and he said the public doesn’t need to know that, but hopefully he will not be able to get away with that answer much longer.

If Barack Obama wants the job of Supreme Court Justice, it is his for the asking should Biden win the election. I have no idea if Obama wants a real job or not, but Joe Biden would not be able to refuse him if he does. Senate confirmation would then become just a formality. If he can serve as President, he can certainly serve on the court. I doubt if he wants it though, because he seems to have a pretty good life right now without working.

What about President Trump? Should he decline to nominate until and if he is reelected? Absolutely not is my answer, and if the shoe were on the other foot, I promise you the Democrats would go forward. This is a culture war being fought in our minds and in our streets, which means we must take any advantage we have. He seems to agree because on September 19th he tweeted the following:

“We were put in this position of power and importance to make decisions for the people who so proudly elected us, the most important of which has long been considered to be the selection of United States Supreme Court Justices. We have this obligation, without delay!” So, there it is, he intends to nominate and fill the position if the Senate is wiling. Right now, I believe the announcement is scheduled for tomorrow, the 26th.

Both Presidential candidates will be judged on this nomination and how they react to their opponent’s nominee. The senate will also be judged by it and I would assume that senators up for reelection are now adjusting their campaigns accordingly. Not many federal appointments have been more important, if any. Despite all the threats of violence, of impeachment etc. he is going forward. It is most interesting that the Speaker of the House threatened impeachment proceedings because he might dare to do what he is constitutionally required to do. If she does, that will help assure Biden’s defeat because voters will see it for what it is.

Who then, should he nominate? Who has the intelligence and fortitude for the job and who has the determination to survive the Democrat character assassination that is the nomination process? That is the easy part folks if you are only going to consider those who have some prospect of being confirmed. The choice is Amy Coney Barrett who currently serves on the 7th circuit bench. She is a graduate of Notre Dame and the law school of the same university.

There are very few criticisms of Judge Barrett, at least legitimate ones. The primary Democrat criticism is that she is a devout catholic and lets her catholic faith guide her decisions. Well God forbid that we should have a member of the court who believes in God and acts accordingly.

If that is the only thing her opponents can come up with then she must be a pretty good jurist. She is by far the brightest and most qualified available in my opinion. She deserves to be on the court, and it would be a shame if the deep prejudice of Democrats eliminates her because she is catholic. She represents a chance to showcase before the American public a brilliant legal mind but also a mother of seven including one with special needs and two adopted from Haiti. She could quite possibly reinvigorate the Republican base with her energy and intellect paired with her calm demeanor.

Judge Barrett is known to be pro life in her views but maybe the American public and enough Senators are tired of the George W. Bush and David Souter say one thing then do another versions of leaders. Give us instead this woman to whom the inherent dignity of all life is no mere slogan or academic concept. Women come in all shapes and sizes just as men do and they don’t necessarily think alike, as a famous lawyer named Ruth Bader Ginsburg once said.

We need her on the court at this critical point in its history. There is no reason whatsoever why she should not be nominated and confirmed although I would not be shocked to see the assassins come after her character.

Finally, folks, I am not telling you Judge Barrett is perfect or that she has never made a decision which I disagree with. I know about her decision supporting the right of leadership to order a lockdown. I am also aware that our culture war was lost when we surrendered our children to the enemy at the school and university levels. What I am telling you is that we must fight on anyway and at this time she is the best candidate that has a reasonable chance of being confirmed.

At least that’s the way I see it.

It Is Time to Vote Strategically and to Make Our Voice Heard

Every presidential election year, we are bombarded with the message that this is the most important election ever and that we must vote for one of the candidates of the two major parties. This year is certainly no exception. The major parties use this approach to keep leading us like sheep to the slaughter.

In presidential election after presidential election, a handful of states determine the winner of the electoral college, and this year will be no different. If third party members ever expect our voices to be heard, we must face this dilemma and start thinking outside the box with strategic ideas to make our votes count.

In states where it is a given that Trump will win by a large margin, such as West Virginia and other states, it only makes sense to vote for Don Blankenship. Neither major party candidate will even bother to campaign in those states. A vote for Blankenship will effectively send a message that we understand “the usual strategy” and intend to make our voice heard loud and clear. That is the only message the progressives will understand.

Likewise, in those states that lean heavily for Biden, such as New, Jersey, New York, and California, it makes little sense to vote for Trump. He will not carry those states. There are thousands of voters in those states, who distrust the Democratic Party candidates, and will never vote for Trump because he is a Republican candidate. The Constitution Party needs to target those voters.

In 2018, we saw how this strategy was able to win an election for one of our candidates. We had gained ballot access for the first time in North Carolina and ran a candidate for county commissioner in Greene County. This county had twice as many Republican voters as it did Democrat voters. However, black voters comprised about 40% of the county population. Many voters were not happy with the liberal republican candidate and voted for the Constitution Party candidate. But what was surprising is that it was the conservative black voters that tipped the election in favor of our Constitution Party candidate, who won the race with 53% of the vote. For a new party to elect a candidate was remarkable. That victory made us realize that many blacks are conservative and are willing to vote for a third party, but will not consider voting for a Republican.

The same thing happened in the Craven County commission race, where the Democratic candidate outpolled the Constitution Party candidate by a mere 25 votes. That pattern showed up in other races in North Carolina as well. It was apparent the party’s message resonated with the conservative black voters.

We anticipate that pattern will repeat itself in this year’s General Election in heavily democratic states such as Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. We expect many conservative Democrats, who will not vote for Republicans, will be casting votes for our candidates.

Let me share with you yet another example. In the 2016 Presidential Election, there were over 14 million votes cast for president in the state of California. Over 8,700,00 votes were cast for Hillary Clinton, and just under 4,500,000 votes were cast for Donald Trump. That means that Clinton garnered over 4.2 million votes more than did Trump. In addition to this, Bernie Sanders received over 79,000 write-in votes. That did not even begin to make a dent into Clinton’s huge margin of votes over Trump. In view of this, those who voted for Trump, because they did not want Clinton to win, simply wasted their vote. Had they voted for Castle, it would have sent a loud and clear message that voters were not happy with the elitist arguments that we are bombarded with every election cycle.

We have a great opportunity this year to make our voices heard by voting strategically. Capturing these targeted groups will boost and increase our credibility as a party. Just this week Newsweek magazine reported that 60% of Americans want a third party. Even in toss-up states, it is questionable that our votes for Blankenship will be sizable enough to deny Trump carrying those states.

In summary, we need to give serious thought as to why we are continually falling victim to the trap of voting for one of the two major parties. Until we come to grips with that realization, we will be unable to change the path of Marxism (Progressivism is the code term used) that is gaining a dangerous foothold in our nation.

Your Help Needed in California

Our effort to gain ballot access in the state of California was unsuccessful. Because of this, we are in the process of securing write-in status for Blankenship in that state. The key element of gaining write-in status is the need to submit 55 electors to the California Secretary of State by October 20th. Unless we submit the required number of electors by that date, any write-in votes for Blankenship will not be counted. There are specific requirements that need to be met to be an elector, and they are listed below. If any of you have family or friends of like mind in California, could you kindly forward this email to them. Be sure to delete the unsubscribe button first, or you could be unsubscribed to future issues of the newsletter.

These are the requirements:

  • You must be a registered voter with current voter registration in the County where you live.
  • You can be registered in any party.
  • You must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, be at least 35 years of age and a resident of the United States for at least 14 years.
More than one member of a family may serve as an elector. Therefore, a husband, wife, and a child who is also a registered voter could all serve as electors.

There is a special form that must be filled out and notarized. Please Contact Janine Hansen, Western Regional Chairman, and she will email you the form with instructions on how to fill it out. Her email and phone number are below. The form must include the following information:

  • You must include your name and residence address.
  • You must take the form and sign it in front of a county elections official or a notary public.

It must then be delivered, to be received NO LATER THAN October 20, 2020, to any county election office or better yet you can mail it to be received no later than October 20, 2020, or deliver it in person to the Elections Division of the Secretary of State Office, 1500 11th Street, 5th Floor, Sacramento, California, 95814.

Again, please let Janine know as soon as possible if you are willing to serve as an elector. We will need additional people to reach the requirement of 55 electors so if you know others who are willing and meet the qualification, please ask them to serve as an elector. I need your name, address, phone, and email sent to me.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Janine Hansen at [email protected] or 775-397-6859. Also, please let her know when you have filed your paperwork.

Remember that we have less than a month to secure the required number of electors.

“Your Constitution Party Candidate for President”

“Your Constitution Party Candidate for President”

Many Americans have learned that Democrats and Republicans legislate corruption into our laws and use that legalized corruption against American citizens.  They suppress our Constitutional rights to free speech, gun ownership, fair trials, and fair elections.  Unfortunately or fortunately, the denial of my personal rights in all these regards makes me the perfect candidate to carry the national banner of the Constitution Party.  A banner for the cause of ending corrupt practices that are gutting our Constitution and that risk turning America into just another failed country among the many that take away from their citizens their God given Human Rights.

As our campaign heads towards Labor Day and the traditional launching point of the public paying attention to voting in November, I wanted to get you some updates on where we are today.

Many of you are very aware of the difficulty of getting the Constitution Party on the ballot in all 50 states.  Party volunteers have worked hard to get us on the ballots in most every state.  A combination of petitioning, negotiating less onerous state requirements to get on the ballot, and lawsuits have met with significant success due to volunteer and passionate Constitution Party workers.

As a result we are both pleased with our progress, but also disappointed by how difficult many states continue to make it to get on their ballot. If you signed up for our emails at www.DonBlankenship.com you will receive campaign updates on ballot access as we move forward.  You have probably also noticed updates on our Facebook and Twitter pages as well.  Take a moment to like both of those social media pages and share them with your friends.

One of the goals of this campaign is to increase media awareness of the Constitution Party.  Getting earned media is one of our primary goals. I don’t expect voters to watch two and a half hour sit down interviews with me like we did with Whiskey Politics earlier in the campaign, but I do hope they take 15 minutes or more as we hit the airwaves across the country.  As but one example check out my interview The Sharpe Way with Larry Sharpe this past week and tell me what you think.

Thanks to America’s first radio station KDKA in Pittsburgh for having me on twice in the last several weeks.  We have plans to be on radio shows from Coast to Coast.  If you have a radio show that you think would be helpful for us to be on shoot an email to [email protected] and give us a lead to follow up on.  We welcome your suggestions and appreciate your help.

Lastly, thanks to you for recognizing that Republicans and Democrats care more about petty partisan politics than actually governing America towards a more vibrant future.  As we show voters that there is a “Third Way” to lead America to secure our nation for our posterity, I ask you to continue in your efforts for this campaign.  We need and appreciate you!!

Don

P.S. My new Campaign Manager told me that I had to add a line about donating to the campaign, so I need to add this link to the email.  As a bonus, anyone who gives $250 or more will get a copy of my book “Obama’s Deadliest Cover Up”.  I thank you for your most generous support of our efforts.

Vermont and New Jersey Qualify for Ballot Access

With Covid 19 hampering our ballot access efforts, it has been a very challenging summer for the party. In spite of this, we have been pushing forward. Our newly elected and appointed regional chairmen have done a remarkable job in moving the ballot access effort forward.

This week word has been received that the party is now ballot qualified for the November General Election in Vermont and New Jersey. In Alaska and Washington the signatures have been turned in along with the required paperwork and we are just waiting confirmation that the party has met the required number of signatures. Tennessee has also completed their signature drive and will be submitting their paperwork to the Secretary of State shortly. Neither Vermont nor Tennessee were ballot qualified in 2016. North Carolina was not ballot qualified in 2016, but is now qualified for 2020.

Currently we are gathering signatures in Iowa and that project should be completed by the 12th of August. Our next goal is Minnesota and if funds allow we will work to gain ballot access in Rhode Island and Kentucky. Your generous donations are needed to make this all possible. The tremendous effort and dedication of our newly elected regional chairmen: Nicholas Sumbles from the Eastern Region; John Blazek from the Midwestern Region; Thom Holmes and Kevin Hayes from the Southern Region; and Janine Hansen from the Western Region has made this possible. Glen Miller of the Executive Committee has also been a tremendous help in this effort.

Our presidential candidate, Don Blankenship has been a guest on a growing number of radio stations. He does a masterful job with his interviews and is doing a remarkable job of promoting the party. I would encourage you to check out his website donblankenship2020.com and then forward it to family and friends of like mind. It is very well done.

We also want to introduce our supporters to candidates who are running for statewide office in their respective states. We hope to feature at least one of those in each future newsletter between now and the November General election. Below is an introduction to Kevin Hayes of North Carolina who is running for the US Senate. Kevin played a key roll in getting North Carolina on the ballot in 2018.

Kevin Hayes For Us Senate

Take A Stand Vote Kevin Hayes US Senate

I think I have a great opportunity to make a national impact for The Constitution Party. I am running against one of the more liberal Senate Republicans in Thom Tillis. The last 5 years I have worked events for the Constitution Party in North Carolina. I would always have people ask who The Constitution Party would run against Tillis. Little did I know that person would be me but I need your help. It cost almost $2,000 to file in NC which I did out of my pocket. I need to raise at least $3,000 in the next few weeks to be able to order signs and possible billboards. Will you join me in this fight for liberty? If you can donate any amount you can do so by visiting hayesforussenate.com or by Mail at:

Kevin Hayes For US Senate
416 SW Center Street
Faison, NC 28341

Together we can place the Constitution Party on the national map but I can't do it alone.

For the Record: I am the only US Senate Candidate who has called for Governor Coopers Impeachment. After the tyrant Cooper's order today I hope every Bar owner, and Gym Owner remember this in November and elect someone who will stand up to out of control Government.

My sincere thanks to each of you for your dedication and continued support.

Your Help Is Again Urgently Needed

Because of your tremendous response, we succeeded in getting 55 electors in California. Your support was incredible! Securing those 55 electors was a prerequisite that provides the Constitution Party presidential candidate, Don Blankenship, with a strong probability of being on the California ballot this November.

Each candidate that runs for the office of president needs to supply each Secretary of State with the number of electors that equals the number of electoral votes of that state. The electors of the winning candidate simply cast their electoral votes in December for that candidate. There is no special requirement needed other than providing us with your name and your physical address.

We now need your support in getting three electors in Alaska, three in Vermont, and 10 in the state of Minnesota.

In Alaska, we have enough signatures to gain ballot status but need three electors. In Vermont, we have met the requirements to be on the ballot, but need three electors. Again, only your name and physical address are needed by the state. Also, please provide us with a current email and a current phone number so that we can contact you if necessary.

We must provide the information on the electors when we file the paperwork in all three states. Time is of the essence! Take some time to review Don Blankenship’s website, which is donblankenship2020.com It is well done and very impressive.

If you live in Alaska, Vermont, or Minnesota, or have family or friends who do and are willing to serve as an elector, please have them forward their full name and physical address to:

Glen Miller at [email protected].
If you have questions, you can reach Glen at 801-663-1678.

If your spouse or like-minded friends and family would also be willing to serve, please contact them immediately and forward this information on to them.

I want to express my sincere thanks to each of you in advance for your help in this regard. It is absolutely critical that we get Blankenship on the ballot in these states.

Your Help Is Urgently Needed

We have potentially great news from the state of California. It is looking encouragingly hopeful that our Constitution Party presidential candidate, Don Blankenship, will be on the California November General Election ballot, but there is one key requirement that we need to fulfill before that can happen. California has 55 electoral votes and we therefore needed 55 people that would be willing to serve as electors.

Each candidate that runs for the office of president needs to supply the State of California with the names and addresses of 55 electors. Then the electors of the winning candidate simply cast their electoral votes in December for that candidate. There is no special requirement needed other than providing us with your name and your physical address.

Those names need to be presented to the court at the time of the court hearing to show that we have met that requirement. Again, only your name and physical address are needed for the judge. However, please also provide us with a current email and a current phone number so that we can contact you if need be.

We need these electors' names before the court hearing which will be in seven days, so time is of the essence. If you are willing to serve as an elector please forward your full name and physical address to Janine Hansen, our Western Regional Chairman immediately. Her email is [email protected]. She can also be reached at 775-397-6859. If your spouse or like-minded friends and family would also be willing to serve, please contact them immediately and forward this information on to them.

I want to express my sincere thanks to each of you in advance for your help in this regard. It is absolutely critical that we get Blankenship on the ballot in California.

The George Floyd Tragedy

The news media has been replete with articles and comments regarding the inexcusable murder of George Floyd of Minneapolis. In view of that incident I had asked our presidential candidate, Don Blankenship, to address the issue. Initially he sent his response to those on his email contact list. The article was viewed by thousands of his followers and hundreds of positives responses were received. Many of those who read the article forwarded it on to others to read as well.

In view of that, I have asked Bob Peck to share Don’s article with those on our party’s email list. I would encourage each of you to take a few moments to read it and then forward it on to others of like mind. Don hit the nail right on the head.

Also, we are in the midst of gaining ballot access in a number of states to ensure that people will have the opportunity to vote for Don in the upcoming general election this November. Currently we are gathering signatures in the state of Alaska and also Tennessee. Three thousand two hundred twelve valid signatures are required to secure ballot status in that state. Thus far well over 1,000 have been secured. The cost per signatures has been $2.00 which is a very reasonable price. Two hundred seventy five valid signatures are needed in Tennessee. We are well into that effort as well, but I do not have an exact number gathered as of this moment. We hope to complete that effort within the coming week.

Please take a moment and send in a donation of any amount to help us complete the petition effort in these states. Every single donation is needed and appreciated.

Once we complete these states we will move forward in New Jersey which requires 800 valid signatures. Blankenship will be on the ballot in Vermont. The only requirements left to do there are to submit the required paperwork and the names of three electors.

My sincere thanks to each of you for your continued support and dedication.

George Floyd Killing Was Murder, Not Racism

Don Blankenship released the following statement on the George Floyd killing

Our country has a long history of racial issues, but there is no video evidence that George Floyd was murdered because he was black and the officers were not black. Said differently, George may well have been murdered because he was black, but the video of the murder does not provide such evidence. The video is evidence of police brutality, of a failed police action, of cruelty, and of a murder, but the video is not by itself evidence of racism.

It was critically important that the Minneapolis police treat the video as what it appears to be—clear evidence of a murder. Regrettably, they did not and still have not done so. Their delay in doing so has caused them to appear biased and arguably racist. Why else would they not treat an apparent murder involving multiple persons as a murder?

A murder charge should have been immediately brought against the officer who choked George. Also, whatever charges were or are appropriate against the other participants in the murder should have been brought as quickly as possible.

In short, the evidence on the video is clear evidence of a murder, and it should be further investigated as a murder case. The delay in bringing charges against the participants in the apparent murder should also be investigated as possible racism. If racism was a factor in the delay and/or in the murder itself, then appropriate corrective and disciplinary actions should be taken against those involved.

The participants in the subsequent “protests,” if peaceful and lawful, should be treated under the law as peaceful and lawful protesters. The participants in the “riots,” if stealing and damaging property, should be treated under the law as participants in theft and vandalism.

The point is that murder is murder and racism is racism. Protests are protests and riots are riots. They are entirely different things. Racism can be motivation for murder and for protests alike. But there is no evidence yet that the murder of George Floyd was motivated by racism. Regardless, racism cannot be a justification for riots.

The equal and timely application of the rule of law are the keys to preventing civil unrest. The Constitution guarantees all of us equal protection under the law. When a man is murdered, the first order of business is to arrest those responsible for the murder and to charge them immediately and properly. Doing so in the case of George Floyd would have demonstrated that Minneapolis officials are not racists, but they failed to do that. It is a lesson of which all police departments in America need to take notice.

The most important thing at this point is not why the officers caused George Floyd to die, but rather to treat and charge them just like anyone else would be treated and charged. If Minneapolis officials do that, then the rule of law will be protected, which is what a civil society depends on.

Constitution Party Chooses Don Blankenship as Presidential Nominee

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Constitution Party held its Presidential Nominating Convention telephonically on May 1 and 2, 2020. Don Blankenship from West Virginia received the nomination for president from among 5 candidates. William Mohr from Michigan was chosen as the Vice-Presidential candidate.

Don Blankenship just published his book, Obama’s Deadliest Cover-Up, about the 2010 Upper Big Branch (UBB) Mine disaster to disclose the dark truth. In this daring exposé, Don Blankenship reveals how far the government will go to keep its dirty secrets. Blankenship went to prison for a year on a misdemeanor. Since then a Federal Judge recommended that Blankenship’s conviction be voided for prosecutorial misconduct. www.donblankenship.com

"It is an honor to have been chosen to be the Constitution Party candidate for President of the United States,” stated Don Blankenship. “Americans now have an opportunity to truly make America Great Again.”

"As President, the American people and I will also Make Detroit Great Again, Make New York Great Again, Make Philadelphia Great Again, and Make All American Cities Great Again. We will no longer spend American taxpayer money to police the world. Instead, that money will be used to police our cities and end the opiate drug epidemic,” he continued.

"We will no longer allow corporations to use illegal immigrant labor to depress the minimum wage nor to take jobs away from American workers. We will end sanctuary cities, stop providing healthcare for non-Americans, and use that money to provide better healthcare for America’s poor and elderly,” Blankenship stated.

"We will no longer export our American jobs to China nor import their viruses into our homes. We will live by the motto that ‘charity begins at home’. We will end foreign aid until there are no homeless Americans. We will make our medicines, our cars, our beer, our cell phones, our steel, and our future here in America.”

"We will do all of this for the sake of our children and our country while protecting and defending our Constitutional rights."

"The simple reason you should elect me to be your President is that I will be exactly that—your President. Every action I take will be in the best interest of America and Americanism," concluded Don Blankenship Presidential Candidate of the Constitution Party.

William (Bill) Mohr was chosen as the Vice-Presidential candidate. He is the State Chairman of the Michigan U.S. Taxpayers Party, the state affiliate of the Constitution Party. He has built a vibrant party in Michigan under his leadership.

It must be repaired by adhering to the principles upon which it was established. Anything short of that will result in continued failure, continued loss of liberties, continued loss of freedom, and progressive misery upon the American people," stated Bill Mohr, Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Constitution Party.
