Thanks to your generosity and efforts we are within Victory’s reach in our ballot access drive in New Mexico. As of Wednesday evening, June 20th our supporters had gathered a total of 3,479 signatures. Over 500 of those had been collected by volunteers. That leaves us just 521 signatures left to secure in the next eight days to reach our goal of 4,000 total signatures. That is totally doable and I am confident that with your continued financial report, we can reach our goal.
Your response to our plea for donations to make this all happen has been most rewarding and gratifying. It is truly amazing what a small group of very dedicated people working together can accomplish. In my email that went out Sunday evening, I explained that a donor had pledged to match dollar for dollar up to $1,000.00 any donations that were received for ballot access in New Mexico. As of this evening, a total of $704.00 has been received. This leaves us just $296.00 dollars short of our goal. If you have not yet donated please do so immediately to push us over the top. Login to www.constitutionparty.com and contribute whatever you are able to. We need to reach that goal before Wednesday, June 27th. The petition deadline for submitting the signatures to the NM Secretary of State is June 28th. Your support is most gratefully appreciated.
In addition to this, more exciting news has come from North Carolina. Upon learning that the Constitution Party had achieved ballot access, at least one currently serving county commissioner has switched his voter registration from Republican to the Constitution Party. More details will follow shortly. Rumor is that other currently serving officers plan to do the same.
Furthermore, three Republicans who lost their races in the recent North Carolina primary have switched to the Constitution Party and have filed to run for the same office in the November General Election. Upon learning that the Constitution Party had gained ballot access, both the NC Republican-controlled state house and state senate passed a “Sore Loser” law to prevent any candidates who lost in the primary from running for the same office in that year on another party’s ticket. The Law was to take effect immediately upon passage. However, Governor Cooper who is a democrat vetoed the bill late Friday night. The Constitution Party’s State Convention was held on Saturday and those three candidates were nominated to run for office at that meeting. Early on Monday morning, those candidates all filed for office one day before the state legislature was able to override the governor’s veto.
In total, ten candidates filed to run on the Constitution Party ticket including David Fallin who filed to run for US Congress in NC Congressional District Seven. Fallin is a high school and college referee and recently ran for county commissioner in Pender County. He lost that race by a mere 30 votes. He will make a great candidate, but we need people to donate to his campaign to help cover a hefty filing fee of $1,740.00. He needs an additional $1,490.00 to reach that requirement. The filing fee must be paid by Tuesday, June 26th.
Please donate what you are able to help with David Fallin's filing fee.
Help us to make history in North Carolina. A year ago no one would have ever imagined that the Constitution Party would become a ballot-qualified party there and have the impact that it already has had in that state. It is your financial support that has made this all possible.
